Norris Cole makes his NBA debut

Norris Cole scored seven points in his National Basketball Association debut as the Miami Heat knocked off the defending NBA champions, Dallas Mavericks, 105-95, on Christmas Day at the American Airlines Center.

The rookie point guard from Cleveland State also had two rebounds, a steal, four turnovers and zero assists in 24 minutes.

Cole went 3-for-8 from the field, including making a three-pointer.

With 6:58 left in the first quarter, Cole entered the game replacing starting point guard Mario Chalmers.

Two minutes later, Cole would score his first NBA basket - a three-pointer in the corner - with 4:35 left in the first quarter.

Cole is the fifth Viking to ever play in a NBA game - joining Franklin Edwards, Darren Tillis, Clinton Smith and Cedric Jackson.
