Maitre de-commits from Cleveland State; Lucien commits

Cleveland State received some good news and bad news on the recruiting trail.

The bad news came when Richardson Maitre de-committed from the Vikings on Tuesday. Maitre's decommitment was first reported by SourceHoops.com.

The good news came a few hours later when Andy Lucien announced on his Twitter account that he has committed to play for Gary Waters and the Vikings.

Lucien, a 6-foot-7 forward from North Olmsted, took an official visit to CSU earlier in the day. He also had offers from Ohio and UNC Asheville, as well as interest from several DII programs.

"I always wanted to go there throughout this recruiting process and even before that when I was a kid," Lucien told PrepHoopsOhio.com. "They really want to help me become the best basketball player I can be. It's a perfect fit."

Lucien averaged 18.5 points and eight rebounds per game last year as a junior.

Maitre, a point guard from West Oaks Academy in Fla., announced his committed to CSU on Sept. 28. The Montreal, Canada native reopened his commitment after recently receiving high-major interest.

Waters told the media last week that CSU could sign up to three recruits for the class of 2016.
