Cleveland State men will open HL basketball tournament vs. Green Bay

The Cleveland State men's basketball team will enter this week's Motor City Madness tournament in Detroit, as the No. 9 seed and will face No. 4 Green Bay in the first round.

The Vikings, who dropped three of their last four, finished the regular season at 9-22 overall and 4-14 in the HL, will face the Phoenix (19-12, 11-7 HL) at noon Saturday at Joe Louis Arena.

The tournament field was set following the conclusion of Sunday's contest between UIC and Milwaukee.

Green Bay, winners of four of its last five, are coming off a heart-breaking 70-68 home loss to Valparaiso on Sunday afternoon, falling in the final seconds on a 3-pointer from Shane Hammink.

The Phoenix swept their two conference games with CSU, including a 17-point victory Monday in Green Bay.
